OCEAN COLOUR SCHEME SHOW on Sat 27th SEPTEMBER CANCELLED.
Sadly due to advance ticket sales being lower than expected or needed upto this point with pretty much no uptake in the last couple of weeks despite a fair bit of reminding since January when this show was announced also paid advertising that has become unsustainable, BOTH the band and ourselves at the Dreadnought feel it's right we cancel today rather than HOPING (or gambling) more will see that the excellent Ocean Colour Scheme were set to play and in turn we see enough tickets to make the show "viable" to all rather than still be in the same position this time next week with just a few more willing to hit the buy now button disappointing everyone even more than this news today.
All ticket holders get a full refund INCLUDING booking fee so you are never out of pocket in that respect with our ticket partner Universe.
Aye it's a pain in the arse if you were looking forward to it, had it planned with groups of people as many had and made the effort to come along which we can't thank you enough for.
Believe me after all the work,time and money already invested in this and every show the last thing we want to do is throw that all away that easily but sometimes we are left with no choice as we can't afford to go ahead time after time with the costs and staffing rising if we don't see sufficient sales coming in which as a consequence is already shaping the future of live shows possibly without you even realising it.
We all get that there is potentially 101 other things going on that is stopping you committing to an advance ticket these days but this is now the outcome for many bands and shows up and down the country now that can't make the numbers or finances work I'm afraid to say even on shows that everyone loved the last time and what we once regarded as a banker selling out weeks in advance to see numbers dropping off more and more.
More concerning this trend is now forcing venues to change their approach completely or worse still close which many are in greater numbers to the pressures and challenges placed upon them.
So Please if you can look, find out what's on your doorstep and if you can grab a ticket in advance as many once did please do so and support live music.
