Accessibility at Dreadnoughtrock
Accessibility Information at Dreadnoughtrock Bathgate :
We’ve been rocking Bathgate for over five decades, and we want everyone to have a safe, welcoming, and epic night out. Because we are an iconic venue housed in an older, traditional building, we have some structural layout limitations.
We believe in total transparency so you can plan your visit with confidence. Below is everything you need to know about our layout, facilities, and how we can support your access needs.
🏛️ Venue Layout & Step-Free Access
Dreadnoughtrock is a split-level venue divided into our Downstairs Live Music Area and our Upstairs Nightclub.
Downstairs (Live Music Venue) Entry:
The main entrance on King Street has step-free access directly into the ground floor live music area and main bar.
Seating: Most live shows are a mix of standing and seating depending upon on the show, but we always have limited peripheral seating available. If you cannot stand for long periods, please contact us in advance so we can reserve a seat or stool for you.
Upstairs (Nightclub)Access: The upstairs nightclub and top bar are accessed exclusively via a flight of stairs.
Limitations: Due to the age and structure of the building, we unfortunately do not have a mechanical lift or elevator to the upper level.
If you have severe mobility restrictions, your visit will be limited to our ground-floor live music events.
🚻 Toilet Facilities
Standard Toilets: Available on both levels.
Worth noting the Gents downstairs has a small step up into the toilet. All other toilets are on the same level.
Accessible Toilets: While we have a fully compliant ground-floor toilet, please note that due to the historical layout of the building, we do not currently have an accessible toilet upstairs. If you have specific questions about bathroom dimensions or handrail placements, please drop us a message ahead of time and we will gladly walk you through the setup.
💡 Lighting, Sound & Sensory Effects Strobe Lighting: Standard nightclub effects, including flashing lights, strobes, and lasers, are regularly used during both live band performances and upstairs nightclub hours.
Smoke & Haze: Atmospheric haze effects are used frequently on the ground-floor stage.
Sound Levels: As a Live Music and Rock venue, volume levels can be high. If you are sensitive to loud noise or are attending with sensory considerations, we highly recommend bringing ear protection.
🐾 Assistance Dogs
We welcome registered assistance dogs into the venue during live music hours. However, please be aware that the high volume levels, dense crowds, and strobe lighting during peak times (especially after 11 PM) may not be a safe or comfortable environment for animals. Please contact us in advance if you plan on bringing an assistance dog so we can ensure you are looked after.
🎫 Essential Companion / PA Tickets
We believe that music should be accessible. If you require a Personal Assistant (PA) or essential companion to accompany you to a ticketed live show in order to attend safely, we are happy to offer a complimentary companion ticket.
To arrange a PA ticket, please book your standard ticket first, then contact alanr@dreadnoughtrock.com at least 48 hours before the show with your booking order number and proof of eligibility (such as a CEA card or Access Card).
