After a decade of using skiddle we are moving over to pastures new in 2025 which you may have already noticed.
From January 2025 all events will also be sold using the Universe platform from Ticketmaster as the prefered provider by The Music Venue Trust for small venues that will provide invaluable support to us as well as a trusted Ticket Partner in the industry for you with fixed fees all set and controlled by us with zero extras added on.
The new platform adds more functions for you including a clever ticket transfer so you can transfer(or sell) to someone else if you can no longer make it also add individual names to bulk orders so everyone can have their own ticket.
That's just to name two things but there is loads more.
I'm hoping to get a wee handy guide produced soon to show the process but with already 100's of tickets sold proves its nae hassle.
One thing to mention and a major thing for us is if an event is postponed or reluctantly cancelled then you get the ticket cost AND booking fee returned which we feel is invaluable in current climate from Universe.
Skiddle offered your booking fee back as a credit but feel this moves things on in 2025.
We know it sucks when a show is cancelled and in 2024 the industry trend was due to lack of sales in advance tickets as the major contribution to venues, bands or promoters pulling a show which we have avoided in 99% of our 2024 shows but the odd thing can pop up thats unavoidable.
Hopefully as we have done for decades is to add a little peace of mind and confidence to buy in advance for our shows to guarantee your spot no matter how busy you might think a show might turn out rather than opt to always leave it last minute to grab your tickets, which has been a major concern as we can no longer predict how show uptake is going to plan everything like staffing and stock levels when so many leave it so late.
We get the genuine reasons such as family, work and financial constraints but there has been any increased habit of just leaving it last minute just because ....which helps no one to plan future shows and already is a factor on what we will do in 2025.
So with our no nonsense refund policy should a show be moved or cancelled we think we've got things covered to be fair and always upfront why a show has had to be altered.
We also feel the Universe platform has a very simple and straightforward customer page to book a ticket that will allow us to wrap into our new look website. The price advertised includes the booking fee which is then broken down when you go to select a ticket with no added scan fees that skiddle were adding upto £2 per order before it was spotted and challenged to be 50p again, but is still 50p more than Universe.
No adverts, no reviews for anything other than our venue and event, no hotel recommendations or alternative shows etc etc.
Just the vital info you want and need including invaluable links and videos to the band playing which was really hard to do with skiddle.

There will be a short transition period coming up where ticket allocations are reduced on skiddle and moved to Universe for previously advertised shows with all newly listed shows only having tickets on universe.
Don't worry we'll keep you right and ALL tickets purchased on the skiddle network will be honoured and wrapped into Universe without you having to do a thing.
Just present your skiddle bar/qr code as normal on show night and in ye go, as we've got it all worked out.
Moving forward please use the new look website www.dreadnoughtrock.com and www.dreadnoughtrock.co.uk for looking up forthcoming shows and booking your tickets rather than the skiddle app or skiddle web listings which we appreciate you might have used religiously.
Thank you for your continued support and sure you will enjoy the new platforms and updates to the new site in 2025 as we rock on, set more history as year 53 comes round at Scotland's longest running rock club.
Alan - Team Dread.
