Welcome back or the First time to the Dread News Blog where all the news happens first !
Best to check here for updates and important stuff rather miss it on our socials.
A wee change to an April show was forced upon us at the start of this week - 24 Feb where the Beyond Jovi show scheduled to take place on 12 April had to be postponed to 5 December.
Sadly the bass player in the band had to step away from his duties with immediate effect due to increased work and personal commitments which can happen, making it harder to be at rehearsals and commit to shows.
Many forget most bands like this also have a life away from the stage so wish him well also the band in finding a suitable new member.
Getting a new bassist to gel and upto speed for the April show would be pretty hard to do along with a new drummer that came on board last month. Anyone who's been in band will know what that's like but for those who aren't then it's not a simple click of the fingers and the material is learnt. So unfortunately an early call had to be made on this rather than leaving it to the last minute and still have the same outcome as the band have a very high standard they are not willing to go out half ready which I fully support.
All ticket holders were informed instantly but have had a "we were coming to that" who hadn't bought a ticket wondering what was going on and didn't see the event had been moved on FB, website and Ticket Platform where the updates are.
Now you know straight from the Dread HQ.
We are working on an alternative night of live music for 12 April now so keep an eye on the website and socials for that when it's tied up.
A NEW SHOW announced for Friday 11 April this week.
For first in a long while we are getting FOUR top rock bands together on the same night in association with Rockfiend and Rockfiend Rocks.
ALL have played separately at some point over the decades so it's pretty damn good to have them all together on one bill for that. Even better it's a tenner in advance !!

I know some might wonder about Pyroclast and when they played at the Dread but all will be revealed by the band in the weeks ahead on that. I'm sworn to secrecy.
For now you can get all the info and advance tickets at :
ALSO announced this week are the return of PRETTY in P!NK who will be back Saturday 6 DECEMBER. Tickets are on sale now and many are locking them in as it's always a top night which sells out well in advance leaving many to sit on the waiting list for folk changing their mind nearer the time.
In other news this week one band dropped off the GATHERING coming up in a months time on Saturday 5th April. This ALL DAY PUNK FEST which we've ran for many a year is back at full strength again with NINE BANDS set to play from early doors (2pm).
Headline act GIMPFIST who are a firm favourite UK wide regularly heading up REBELLION and CALLING festivals, who are also celebrating their 20th Anniversary.
Great to have these guys back with us again so don't miss out the chance to see them.
There is no guarantee we can make it happen again as this took a lot of work in the background to make this happen in 2025 ! Just saying for the "I'll go next year" mindset.
Bad Years have sadly dropped out but that means RADIO CHIP PAN from over the water get the nod to stand in and kick off the day.
Now we appreciate many punks are old skool and just want to rock up on the day BUT we would ask as we always do to lock in an advance ticket to show you are actually coming along. It's Vital bands, venues and promoters see this to avoid any additional grey hairs and just in case you didn't know the major reason in 2024 why so many shows were postponed or cancelled.
